Welcome to Our New Miami Dance Studio

What do a bounce house, customized cupcakes, Bernie from the Miami Heat, food trucks and Mady’s abuela have in common? They were all part of the grand opening and ribbon cutting of our new Miami dance studio location.

We were thrilled to welcome hundreds of our dancers, their families, community members and future dancers to the new studio on June 10th.

What makes Mady’s Dance Factory’s new location so much better?  Let’s break down what our additional space is letting us accomplish:

  1. More Teen Classes

With multiple dance rooms, we now have the ability to add additional teen classes!  Check out Tumbling, Ballet Pointe, Jazz/Leaps and Turns, Jazz Funk, Hip Hop for 13 year olds to adults, and the always popular – Open Class with Mady!  There’s something for every type of teen dancer.

  1. Additional Classes for our Fierce, Grown Females

Miami ladies, rejoice!  Miami moms looking for some me-time or boss babes looking to work up a sweat now have more class options:

We promise those great endorphins you’re working up will carry you right through the week!

  1. Brickstone Media Photography Studio

Our professional photography partner Brickstone Media now has a permanent home inside Mady’s Dance Factory.  From recital photos to headshots and family portraits, the Brickstone Media team has a dedicated space for all types of photography needs. Plus, because we like to share, we’re opening up the space to local photographers that need to rent a photo studio. Limited dates and times are available!

  1. Wedding and Quince Choreography

Surprise your wedding or quince guests with a customized choreographed dance routine. Whether you want to break it down to your favorite hip hop song or learn to waltz, our team can make it happen.

  1. Bachelorette and Birthday Parties

Looking for a unique experience for your bachelorette or birthday party?  Book a dance party for you and your friends. Our new Miami dance studio location has private rooms for all types of unique dance celebrations.

Our open spaces are also idea for yoga classes, boot camps, and more so we’re opening up the studio to other fitness trainers in Miami looking to host classes!  The possibilities are (almost) endless and we’re thrilled to share Mady’s Dance Factory’s new location with you.

Start. Stop. Pull up. Turn out. Dance is one of the only exercises that involves frequently shifting your balance and switching muscle groups, making it one of the most dynamic forms of exercise that exist. Not to mention fun! Livestrong describes dance as an “excellent type of aerobic exercise” because of its benefits to the mind and body.

Benefits for your body.

Dance is a full body experience. From lengthening your posture to strengthening your core, most types of dance require using multiple muscle groups at the same time. While other workouts seem to overwhelmingly target one area of the body over the other, dance requires the entire body.

With that being said, only one 30 minute session of letting loose can burn up to 250 calories. This is comparable to going for a jog or swim. By repeating this 3 or more times per week, you can drastically improve your cardiovascular health. For women, dance classes can help build stronger bones and reduce the risk of osteoporosis. We recommend trying dance classes like the ones provided by Slay Fitness. We incorporate methods from high-intensity interval training (HIIT), helping tone muscles and burn fat all while listening to the best music.

Energizing your mind.

Aside from improving your overall physical health, dancing can also help improve your mood and mental health. Attending a dance class can help foster positive relationships with fellow dancers, release endorphins, and improve memory. Dancing is also ideal for relieving stress - helping you maintain a positive, can-do attitude.

According to a study by the New England Journal of Medicine, dance helps the brain refine coordination, decision-making, and recall skills. One of the most impressive findings suggests dance classes may reduce your risk of dementia by 76 percent.

Dance is an art and exercise that can benefit men and women at any age. Whether you are taking ballet, jazz, hip-hop or simply dancing with friends know that you are strengthening both your body and mind!

How to Put Your Fitness Goals Back on Track

We are almost into March now and some of us may find ourselves failing to stick to our New Year’s fitness resolutions. As we are faced with our fast-paced daily lives once again, our fitness goals often fall to the wayside. But it is never too late to recommit to your resolutions; here are some tips to do just that!

 1. Assemble Your Team

An effective way to stay committed to your year-end resolutions is to workout as a group with your friends. Having workout buddies commit to the same exercise goals as you, makes everyone in the group accountable to each other. No one will want to be the person who bails out on the team. Teaming up with your girlfriends also provides motivation and encourages healthy competition.

 2. Try New Workouts

One of the most popular resolutions is to workout more, but it’s easy to lose track of that goal. Working out in the gym five days a week can get tiresome. The same treadmills and weight machines - boring! Inject some variety in your fitness regimen by signing up to new and exciting classes like Slay Fitness, our nightclub inspired dance workout. Changing it up will prevent gym fatigue and make it easier to commit to exercising regularly.

 3. Never Give Up

Don’t be hard on yourself just because you faltered on your New Year’s resolutions. If you overestimated yourself and set goals that were too high or unrealistic, you may need to break them down into smaller, more achievable bits. Sometimes, you may need to give yourself a break; allow for a cheat day, week, or even a month. Remember your resolutions will still be there for you to pick back up anytime. Just don’t give up!

Want to learn how Slay Fitness can help you recommit and achieve your resolutions? Give us a call or sign up for a class! Slay with us Thursday Nights at 7 p.m.!
